Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PrepSights ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use PrepSights. It is written to comply with Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your email address, and your name if you choose to provide it.
- Study data: test attempts, answers, scores, drill progress, planner tasks, and similar usage generated as you study.
- Content you upload: answer sheets and PDF files you submit to features like the quiz builder or evaluator.
- Messages: doubts you ask the AI doubt solver and feedback you send us.
- Technical data: essential cookies used to keep you logged in, and basic logs needed to run and secure the Service.
We do not collect passwords (login is via one-time email links/codes) and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
2. Why we use your data
- to operate your account and provide the study features you use;
- to compute your analytics and recommendations (e.g. readiness score, weak areas);
- to respond to your feedback and support requests;
- to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse;
- to process payments and manage access, once payments launch.
3. Where your data lives and who processes it
Your data is stored in our database and file storage hosted by Supabase, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). We use a small number of service providers to run PrepSights: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (website hosting), an email delivery provider (login emails), and Anthropic (AI processing for features like the doubt solver — only the content needed to answer your query is processed). We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except as required by law.
4. Your rights (DPDP Act)
- Access: ask what personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your account and personal data. We will delete it except where law requires retention (e.g. payment records).
- Grievance: raise a complaint and have it addressed (see below).
- Nomination: nominate a person to exercise your rights if you are unable to.
To exercise any of these rights, email prepsights@gmail.com from your registered email address. We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 30 days.
5. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account (or ask us to), personal data is deleted within 30 days, except minimal records we must keep by law.
6. Cookies
We use only essential cookies — the ones that keep you signed in. No advertising, analytics or third-party tracking cookies are set.
7. Children
The Service is intended for students preparing for competitive exams. If you are under 18, please use PrepSights with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
8. Grievance Officer
